Assign Asset (Operator Mode)
Learn how to assign a device to a specific machine for dedicated operator use.
Overview
The Assign Asset feature allows an organization administrator or owner to lock a specific computer, tablet, or iPad to a single machine within the IoTFlows platform. This is ideal for creating dedicated operator stations on the shop floor.
When a device is assigned to an asset, any operator who logs into the IoTFlows dashboard from that device will be taken directly to that specific machine's page, streamlining their workflow.
Key Benefits
- Operator Clock-In/Out: The operator's login and logout sessions on the assigned device are automatically used as their clock-in and clock-out times. This data is used for detailed operator performance tracking.
- Task and Job Management: The system displays only the jobs and tasks that are relevant to the logged-in operator and the specific machine they are assigned to, reducing confusion and improving focus.
This feature is the foundation for the Operators Performance tab, which provides detailed analytics on work sessions.
How to Assign an Asset
- Log in to the IoTFlows dashboard from the computer or tablet you wish to assign.
- Navigate to Organization Settings.
- Go to the Assign Asset section.
- Select the desired machine from the list to pair with the device.
- Confirm the assignment.
