Auto Downtime Classification

Create rules to automatically classify downtime events.

Overview

The Auto Downtime Classification feature saves significant time by allowing you to create rules that automatically categorize downtime events. This ensures that your downtime data is consistent and reduces the need for manual classification by operators.

These rules can be configured in Organization Settings > Auto Downtime Classification.

Rule Types

You can define the following types of rules:

1. Short Downtime

This rule handles brief machine stoppages.

  • Condition: A machine is down for less than a specified duration (e.g., 5 minutes).
  • Action: You can configure the rule to either:
    • Auto-classify the event with a specific reason code (e.g., "Short Downtime", "Machine Setup").
    • Convert to Uptime, effectively ignoring the brief stoppage in downtime calculations.

2. Start of Shift

This rule addresses the downtime that typically occurs as a shift begins.

  • Condition: A machine is down at the very beginning of a scheduled shift.
  • Action: The downtime is automatically classified with the reason "Start of Shift".

3. End of Shift

Similar to the start of shift rule, this handles downtime at the close of operations.

  • Condition: A machine is down at the very end of a scheduled shift.
  • Action: The downtime is automatically classified with the reason "End of Shift".

4. Breaks

This rule is for scheduled breaks during a shift.

  • Condition: A machine is down during a predefined time window (e.g., between 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM).
  • Action: The downtime is automatically classified with a specific reason code you define, such as "Lunch Break".
You can create multiple break rules to account for different scheduled breaks throughout the day.
