SenseAi Embedded
What SenseAi Embedded measures, what ships in the box, and where it can go that a standard SenseAi cannot.
SenseAi Embedded runs the same application as SenseAi and reports the same things. It is not a different product for a different buyer. What its sealed IP67 housing buys is placement: it mounts on the motor or spindle itself, and on surfaces where coolant, wash-down or dust would end a standard unit.
Reading at the source is what adds advanced health analytics, the bearing and multi-axis detail that needs vibration measured at the component rather than through the machine frame.
What SenseAi Embedded measures
SenseAi Embedded, front and back: the M12 connector on the top edge, and the magnetic base on the back that must sit flat against the machine.
SenseAi Embedded reads vibration only. The housing is sealed, so unlike SenseAi it takes no acoustic reading, and neither device measures current. From that stream, the cloud reports:
- Machine status in real time: running or down. There is no third state.
- Uptime, utilization, and production insights. Every figure is defined in how each metric is calculated.
- Root-cause downtime analysis, with operator notes on each stop.
- Historical performance by day, week, month, quarter, or year.
- Anomaly detection and shock severity.
- Machine health trends from vibration KPIs: mean, RMS, and standard deviation.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest across the IoTFlows cloud.
Thresholds you set during calibration decide where running begins and ends. Part counts and cycle times are derived from the same trace by the algorithm you pick for that machine.
Choose SenseAi Embedded when you can mount on the motor or spindle itself, or when the mounting point sees coolant, wash-down or dust. You do not need it when the best mounting point is reachable and dry: a standard SenseAi reports the same machine performance and reads acoustics as well as vibration.

In the box
A SenseAi Embedded ships pre-configured. The housing is sealed, so there is nothing to open or wire inside it.
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SenseAi Embedded device | 1 | Pre-configured; the housing is sealed |
| External antenna | 1 | Connect it before powering the device on |
The M12 power adapter and the M12 cable are ordered separately. The cable is an extension, 1 to 3 meters (3 to 10 ft), for when the adapter will not reach the unit; an M12 T-splitter daisy-chains power between units mounted close together.
Requirements
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Account | An IoTFlows organization you can sign in to |
| Network | A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, or an IoTFlows 4G/LTE router. 5 GHz is not supported |
| Phone | An iOS or Android device. Wi-Fi setup runs over Bluetooth from the mobile app, not from the web |
| Mounting surface | A clean ferrous surface, on the motor or spindle where you can reach one |
| Time | 5 to 45 minutes, depending on how reachable the mounting point is |
IP67 covers temporary immersion, not permanent submersion, and the unit is rated to 60 °C. Do not mount it where either limit is passed.
Sensors are tied to an asset by IoTFlows during onboarding. If a sensor is not reporting against the right machine, contact support.

SenseAi is a magnet-mounted sensor that reads vibration and acoustics to report machine status, uptime, downtime reasons and vibration health without a PLC connection; it ships with an external antenna, a USB cable and a power adapter, and needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network or an IoTFlows 4G/LTE router, a phone for setup, and a flat magnetic mounting surface.
BeamTracker is a laser sensor that counts units as they pass a point: each unit breaking its beam registers a timestamped count, and the time between counts decides whether the line reads as running or stopped. It has a built-in touchscreen for on-device setup, ships with an external antenna only, since M12 power and the mounting bracket are ordered separately, and reports no machine health, vibration or temperature, so those alerts are unavailable on a BeamTracker asset.
